Maritime Digitalization Partnership Announcement

Pranala Digital Transmaritim and Maritime Lentera Sign Strategic Agreement to Accelerate Maritime Digital Transformation — From Youth Development to AI-Based Ship Maintenance.

SURABAYA — Indonesia’s maritime industry marks another strategic milestone as PT Pranala Digital Transmaritim (Pranala DT) and PT Lentera Segara Indonesia (Maritime Lentera) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on maritime digitalization initiatives.

The agreement was signed by Zainal, General Manager of Pranala DT, and Achmad Fadjar, General Manager of Maritime Lentera.

This partnership brings together two complementary strengths: Pranala DT as a maritime technology company with over 16 years of experience in ICT-based solutions for the shipping industry, and Maritime Lentera as a leading maritime technical consultant specializing in ship design, engineering, construction, and shipyard supervision.

Technology and Engineering Synergy

Zainal emphasized that this collaboration goes beyond a formal agreement and represents a concrete roadmap to accelerate Indonesia’s maritime digital transformation.

“We see Maritime Lentera as a highly strategic partner. Their technical expertise in ship design, construction, and shipyard supervision forms a strong foundation. Our role is to build the digital layer on top of it — from vessel operation software to AI-based systems,” said Zainal after the signing ceremony.

Achmad Fadjar also highlighted the urgency for the national maritime industry to adopt advanced technologies to remain globally competitive.

“Future vessels and shipyards will rely heavily on data, predictive systems, and automation. Through this collaboration, we aim to ensure that all maritime stakeholders — from ship owners and shipyards to human resources — are ready to enter the digital maritime era,” he stated.

Four Key Collaboration Pillars

The partnership will focus on several strategic initiatives, including:

1. Maritime Youth Development

Training and development programs for maritime students, cadets, and digital talents to prepare a future-ready workforce aligned with Industry 4.0.

2. Ship Operational Digitalization

Integration of software systems for cargo planning, vessel stability, and fleet management in compliance with IMO, SOLAS, and SIRE 2.0 standards.

3. AI-Based Predictive Maintenance

Development of artificial intelligence systems capable of predicting equipment failures before they occur, reducing maintenance costs and minimizing operational risks.

4. Shipyard Digitalization

Implementation of advanced technologies such as Building Information Modeling (BIM), digital twin, and data-driven monitoring systems to improve efficiency in shipbuilding and repair processes.

Strengthening Indonesia’s Maritime Ecosystem

This collaboration aligns with Indonesia’s vision as a Global Maritime Fulcrum. Industry observers view the synergy between a technology provider and a technical consultant as a key driver in building a comprehensive digital maritime ecosystem.

Experts highlight that the partnership’s broad scope — from human capital development to AI implementation — represents a holistic approach essential for sustainable transformation.

Zainal added that initial implementation phases will begin soon, focusing on maritime youth training programs and pilot projects for AI-based maintenance systems.

“We want to ensure this collaboration goes beyond ceremonial agreements and delivers tangible impact for the industry and Indonesia’s future maritime talents,” he concluded.
